Modest Prom Gowns

Compared to the things I usually post about, this one is a little off topic, but I wanted to share this new line of dresses with you. I know some of my readers have kids the right age to be interested in this.

Swing for Prom
is a new line of modest formal dresses designed by a friend of mine. Her philosophy as stated on the website: At Swing Gowns we feel that women can look beautiful and glamorous and still be modest. All of our gowns can be worn over an average bra. We don't compromise on quality with our materials, fit, design or embellishment. Our gowns are designed to enhance the beauty of the wearer, not overpower her.

One thing I love about these dresses is the quality of the design and materials. Every dress is made from 100% silk, and embellishments include glass beads and Swarovski crystals. Nothing beats the way silk drapes and moves.

Michelle and I both spent years sewing custom gowns for clients. While I moved on to writing, she has moved on to designing her own line of dresses. I'm excited to see her finally realize her dream. Swing on over and have a look. I think they're beautiful and I wish her luck on her newest adventure.

I really like the Cassidy and Wendy. And they are some really elegant dresses.

I know that the site is probably new, but if she could have her web designer make it so the dresses show up in the different colors and then do closeups of the fronts and backs in all of the pictures, that would be really helpful. I know when I'm shopping online I want to see all of the dress. And what would be even cooler (I would imagine this would be VERY hard to do) is to be move the model around--so you could see the dress from ALL angles. That would be cool. But, I'm not a web designer and I think that might be very very hard!

She is working on the different colors. All the dresses showing in white are sample dresses the factory made for her. She is just now getting the actual dresses in the colors. The photo shoot for those is soon and then all the colors will be posted as well. I'll suggest to her she at least does a back view as well.

I totally agree with the fact that it is very difficult to find modest prom dresses. My sister just go married last month and we had the hardest time finding modest bridesmaid dresses!! Everything is sleeveless and tight! By the way, I am selling my dress (a modest ball gown) on Ebay if anyone is interested. It was a beautiful dress. It is Ebay ID #300204590891 Here is the direct link to the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Davids-Bridal-Persimmon-Dress-Bridesmaid-Prom-Modest_W0QQitemZ300204590891QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3262QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
