2011 Whitney Eligible Book List

I've debated with myself about whether to compile a list of the eligible books for the Whitney Awards this year. It is a fair amount of work and I don't know if anyone really uses it. I started the first list in 2007 because we were being asked to nominate books, but there was no other list available. Many people I talked to weren't even aware of who the current LDS authors were. I spent hours searching for LDS authors and their most recent books. That first year, the list was 96 books long.

Soon after that LDSpublisher began posting a list on her blog. I've thought a lot about it and have decided to go ahead and post the list. Not all my readers follow the other blog, and I like to have a list right at my fingertips. I figure the more we advertise the awards, the better for everyone. This year's list is growing quickly. There seem to be more self published books than ever before and more series. So here is this year's list.
