I knew I had to walk today to make 10,000, but between the time I got home from work and got around to my walk, the temperature had dropped 10 degrees - note: always check temp BEFORE you leave. So now I'm wondering if hot chocolate cancels out the effect of a good walk. ;)Stephanie Humphreyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13553998075443712084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-418870747476000878.post-79378019275961732012009-02-03T15:10:00.000-07:002009-02-03T15:10:00.000-07:00WAY to go and color me green with envy. So keep up the good work. The weights are a great idea. I used to keep a set in the living room and now and then I'd just do some tricep pulls or hammer curls. I need to do that again.Josihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10615874450489497826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-418870747476000878.post-37915669996498374312009-02-03T10:24:00.000-07:002009-02-03T10:24:00.000-07:00Even though I don't do a good job of making time f...Even though I don't do a good job of making time for it, I love exercising, too!Kelliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01078158663459610289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-418870747476000878.post-91966109053331428762009-02-02T22:58:00.000-07:002009-02-02T22:58:00.000-07:00Awesome! You love how it makes you feel, and hate the thought of doing it. But really, it isn't so bad, and once your body starts taking advantage of your activity, your pounds will start melting away.

I also agree, though, that muscle burns fat. Another good idea might be to get some ankle weights and wear them as you walk to help build muscle in your legs. It might also do you good to wear some on your wrists.

Nice thoughts. I'm glad you're learning to love walking.Nichole Gileshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12536148445303996747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-418870747476000878.post-33084936052767636102009-02-02T17:05:00.000-07:002009-02-02T17:05:00.000-07:00Great job, Stephanie! When I started going to the gym, I was right there with you: it wasn't the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of enjoyable activities. That changes though as you establish the routine and start to see the benefits.

A little tip for you... if you want to see the "extra weight ... start to melt away", you'll need to grow your muscle. Muscle consumes fat. Get some dumbells (I'm not talking about your brothers :P) and start doing lunges and curls. Once you start finding them getting easier, move on to something else.Marc Thomsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07803328671107461686noreply@blogger.com
